Amatola Water Board Appointed Dr Linda Makuleni as an interim Chief executive Officer whilst they are busy with permanent CEO appointment processes. The interim Chief Executive Officer will steer the ship whilst the process of the permanent appointment is in progress. She is expected to assume her duties on the 15 August 2022.
Amatola Water is pleased to appoint, a Woman interim CEO and it coincided with the Woman’s month and that alone demonstrates that the institution is serious with transformation (women empowerment) as the Chairperson of the Board is also a woman and many other influential positions in the organization are being held by women.
Dr Linda Makuleni is not new in the position of being a Chief Executive Officer, she had been a CEO at South African Weather Services for 10 years, from 2006 to 2016 and has vast experience in the Leadership positions and various credible organization. Whilst holding a position of the Chief Executive officer at SAWS, She won the following awards :-
She had been an Interim Director Meteorological Association of Southern African – SADC 2019 – 2020 responsible for Development implementation of Resource Mobilisation Strategy and also a Veterinary and Public Health Veterinary Advisor at National Department of Agriculture, Land and Rural Development, she has been advising on Biosecurity, Veterinary and Public Health issues at National Level.
She is presently the Chairperson and Advisory Board Member of Glen Collage of Agriculture Free State and President of Eastern Cape Communal Wool Growers association.
She takes over the position of an Interim CEO of Amatola Water after it has been vacant since April 2020. She will be with the institution for 3 months as this is an interim position for the permanent CEO position to be filled.
Amatola Water applauds any move that brings stability in the governance of the institution and is satisfied with the speed on the appointment of the key positions in the institution. The appointment of the Interim CEO relieves the Executive Manager Planning and Development Mr Siyabulela Koyo, who has been steering the ship. This will give him time to focus fully on his duties as he has been assisting as the Chief Executive Manager.
