Improving Stakeholder Relations

The board has embarked on a stakeholder relations drive wherein the board rekindles the relationship with all Amatola Water stakeholders. They will also establish the stakeholder’s needs on how to service them as clients better in terms of bulk water supply. The issue of dilapidated infrastructure and the unending loadshedding in the country is challenging water supply.  With both mentioned challenges it is very difficult to meet Municipal bulk water demands hence it is everybody’s responsibility to use water sparingly. Water Treatment works are the major consumers of electricity and all treatment works utilises electricity to pump in order to get water.  The institution is busy with the study of the alternative energy in order to improve services to the people however this exercise will take time as it needs a chunk of financial injection.

Amatola Water continues to encourage people to use water sparingly.  Eastern Cape is still struggling with drought effects wherein other dams find it very difficult to be filled up to their maximum capacity and one dam dried up to below extraction.  This is a very same province where other parts are experiencing a day without water hence the importance of regrouping and talk with one accord as an organisation and as a water sector in taking water to the people.
