Amatola Water invites a suitably qualified PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT FOR INTERGRATED ANNUAL REPORT 2023/24 AND EDITING SERVICES.
SCOPE OF WORK
Amatola Water seeks to appoint suitably qualified and experienced professional to produce the Integrated Annual Report 2023/24 which must be finalised by the 30th of September 2024.
Applications
Applications are invited from individuals who meet the following criteria:
- To have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree/B-Tech in Commerce, Law, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations and Business Administration
- Membership in a recognised professional body/professional association/industry affiliation.
- Experience in developing an Integrated Annual Report which meets the requirements by the International Integrated Reporting Framework of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and is in accordance with the comprehensive option presented by the G4 guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
- Minimum of 10 years in professional consulting experience spanning across integrated annual reporting, sustainability report, stakeholder management and communication.
- The senior writer must possess at least eight (8) years of annual report writing experience. The senior writer to demonstrate writing experience for clients in the public sector, development institutions and medium to large organisations. Previous writing experience for clients in the water sector will be an added advantage.
- 5 years’ experience in the water sector providing professional services for the development of an Integrated Annual Report as stated above.
KEY OUTPUTS: INTERGRATED ANNUAL REPORT
The assignment will cover the following:
- Developing concept for integrated report, including copywriting, and typesetting.
- Editing and proofing content generated during the production process to ensure the delivery of the right message.
- Advising and guiding management on how the Integrated Annual Report can be used as a platform to engage stakeholders with various interests.
- Provide management with practical guidance for considerations on how to better deliver a meaningful and concise integrated annual report in the context of the revised Framework:
- Alignment - Optimize and align the reporting suite.
- Connectivity - Connect the information in the content elements.
- Conciseness - Balance conciseness and comprehensiveness.
- Key Performance Indicator - Explain KPIs and the link to value.
- Outcomes- Report clearly on outcomes and trade-offs.
- The Consultant is required to provide writing services for the 2023/24 Amatola Water Board (AW) annual report which includes functions to:
- Collate and review source documents from Amatola Water for the development of the annual report
- Conduct interviews with:
- Chairperson of the Board;
- Chief Executive Officer; and
- Executive managers/managers responsible for the core business units.
- From the interviews, develop/write Minister’s Statement, Chairperson’s Foreword, Chief Executive Officer’s Report and core business unit reports.
- Develop/write any other material as required by the client for the successful development/completion of the annual report project.
- Provide regular reports on progress status updates/meetings on writing progress to Amatola Water in line with DWS and National Treasury compliance deadlines.
- Present the annual report to Board Committees and Board for final endorsement and approval.
- Update Annual Report with recommendations from Manco and Board Committee meetings.
- Prepare a presentation according to the presentation framework to present to DWS and National Treasury.
- Provide a close out report to Manco and the Board (Integrated Annual Report) by 15 October 2024.
