Minimum Qualification:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field

 

Minimum Experience:

 

  • Proven experience as HR Generalist of at least 10 years
  • Experience in project management preferably HR related

 

Preferred education level:

 

  • Post graduate degree Human Resources, business administration or relevant field
  • MBA

 

KEY Outputs:

Reporting to the HRM, the appointee will:

 

  • Initiate and lead human resource programs and projects.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to HR personnel for resolution of recurring/daily issues and problems.
  • Formulate strategic and practical plans to address human resource matters
  • Forge partnerships with institutions of higher learning to design training programmes that talks to the required objectives of the strategy at Amatola Water.
  • Facilitate the MOU’s with private sector organizations (e.g. DBSA) to support funding opportunities to enhance learning and development as a catalyst for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Monitor the use of Government regulations, industry standards as foremost in hiring techniques.
  • Devise plans and techniques to drive change and culture management
  • Assist with the implementation of change management programmes
  • Develop, revise, and implement the integrated HR policies and procedures.
  • Suggest and manage the implementation of suitable HR technology for business advancement.
  • Keep abreast with new trends and advancements in the human resources field.
  • Create and design plans for applying new techniques for driving change in HR processes
  • Review systems and processes and make modifications to address HR issues
  • Help establish control systems for compliance with reporting, business methods and HR practices.
  • Create and design annual HR Communication Plan to ensure effective employee engagement and create employee satisfaction.
  • Provide input into the Divisional Risk Register Risk and guide the identification of action plans and controls
  • Assist with risk identification exercises in order to identify existing and/or emerging risks in Human Resources
  • Coaching and Mentoring to:
  • Facilitate and support the process, working with line management to implement mentoring and coaching of the teams, focusing on the following:
  • Determine the areas for mentoring and coaching.
  • Agree on overall objectives as clearly stated in the employee’s roles and responsibilities.
  • Identify realistic and measurable outcomes and devise an action plan to achieve the desired results.
  • Devise appropriate coaching and mentoring programmes e.g. secondment and work shadowing and support on Succession Planning
  • Develop appropriate performance objectives for interns to ensure value add of practical experience and internship.

 

 

Other Requirements needed:

 

  • Expertise in HR operations, procedures, and best practices
  • Proven research and analytical skills
  • Hands on experience with human resource software programs (ATS, Payroll etc.)
  • Hands on experience with preparing business plans
  • Analytical thinker problem-solver
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and consulting skills
  • A team player lover with excellent leadership skills
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, functions, methods, and best practices
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to strategize and formulate business plans
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities
