Based at Makana and Ndlambe Local Municipalities
Minimum Qualification:
• Grade 10
Required Experience:
• 3 years experience as a heavy duty driver with Code 14 ,and TLB or Excavator certificate or Licence
• Must be able to read and write.
Key Outputs:
Reporting to the Logistics /Transport Supervisor the appointee will:
• Drive trucks, some with high-up crane and operate specialised plant and machinery to ensure general upkeep and good condition of pipelines, plant and surrounding areas:
• Operate a TLB, mini excavator, and truck mounted crane to remove burst pipes, dig and refill trenches for bulk pipelines, reservoirs and chambers to assist with the effective and efficient repair and/ or construction of new work as applicable, pipes, chemicals, heavy pumps
• Operate a forklift to load and off load goods and equipment
• Operate a rock drill ( jack hammer ) mounted on a TLB or mini excavator to break concrete structures and hard rock in trenches
• Transport dangerous goods and implement dangerous goods procedures
• Drive a 14-ton rollback, 8 ton rollback, 10 ton water tanker, tipper truck and trailer and 10 ton truck to deliver TLB, mini excavator, chlorine, sand, stone and pipes to various waste water and potable water treatment works and network etc. as applicable
• Work overtime as required to assist with breakdowns
• Assist with maintenance of an adequate safety regime to prevent accidents
