AMATOLA WATER BURSARY OPPORTUNITIES

Amatola Water is an essential services utility operating in the water sector in the Eastern Cape. This state owned enterprise was established in terms of the Water Services Act (Act 108 of 1997) and is accountable to the Minister of Water and Sanitation as its executive authority. Amatola Water is based in East London and is offering bursaries as part of its contribution to skills development initiatives as expressed in the National Skills Development Plan 2030 objectives by inviting applications from candidates that are pursing studies in line with the Energy and Water Sector. The following qualifications/ study area will be considered:

UNDERGRADUATE QUALIFICATION:

• Supply Chain Management

• Science in Hydrology and Water Resources Management

• Civil Engineering

• N1-N3 Engineering Studies

• Electrical Engineering

• Advanced Certificate in Information Systems Management (For ICT, only this specific qualification shall be considered)

The Bursary Covers the below: Registration, Tuition, Books, Accommodation fees and Meal Allowances

Criteria for selection:

• Must be a South African Citizen

• Applicant from historically disadvantaged communities

• Priority will be given to youth from the Eastern Cape Province irrespective of province of the institution of higher learning.

• Academic merit will be considered during the selection process, as well as the imperative to increase the participation of women and black people in science, engineering and technology

• Applicants are expected to study at an accredited South African Public tertiary institution.

• Acceptance in an institution of higher learning has been obtained

• For students currently at universities, must have passed 90% of the courses for which you have registered for at the university for the study period already completed

YOUR APPLICATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

• Application letter with a brief motivation on why you should be considered • An updated CV

• Residential Letter from Local Municipality

• A copy of your certified identity document

• A Copy of your matric Certificate

• A copy of your latest academic record (if you are a continuing tertiary student)

• An acceptance letter from a Public institution of higher learning.
