Salary R369 054.00 – R500 060.00 (Per annum inclusive of benefits)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- National Certificate: Vocational (N2 in Engineering Studies)
- Trade test certificate - Plumbing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- N3 qualification in Engineering Studies and Trade Test.
Minimum Experience:
- 3 years’ (post trade test) general plumbing and maintenance experience of which 1 year must be at supervisory level.
Key Outputs:
Reporting to the Senior Technician Civils, the appointee will:
- Ensure general maintenance and servicing of all property/assets to ensure excellent working order
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all types of pipes, and valves in order to minimize major breakdowns of equipment
- Ensure all services meet the statutory requirements to minimize accidents and incidents by implementing and maintaining an adequate safety regime
- Inspect equipment to ensure all equipment are in good condition before using them
- Monitor finance-related affairs (Ordering/Vehicle use) of the section
- Monitor overtime worked in order to control labour costs
- Ensure monthly development of staff to improve motivation and performance
- Assist supervisor in appraising and counselling staff formally, when required for ever increasing performance outputs.
Other Requirements:
- Valid unendorsed driver’s licence
- Knowledge of the OHS Act
- Sound knowledge of maintenance and safety systems (i.e. safety requirements & standards as per OHS Act).
