Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering orequivalent qualification in a technical field related to Amatola Water’s corebusiness
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineering Professional registration oreligibility with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or the SouthAfrican Council for Project and Construction Management Professions(SACPCMP)
- Higher degree or diploma/certificate in Engineering Management e.g. PMP, MBA, MBL or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum 15 years’ infrastructure experience ofwhich 10 years’ should be in a management position and at least 5 of thesein the water sector
- Extensive public sector Infrastructure Procurement and Delivery Management experience, specifically in relation to Water Services.
Key Outputs:
Reporting to the Executive Manager: Planning & Developmentthe appointee will:
- Provide support and coaching in the following areas:
* Infrastructure planning and design
* Project management
* Water Resourcesmanagement
* Environmental management
* Scientific Services management
* Institutional and social development
* Marketing and business developmentsupport
* Employee Management
- Analyse existing contracts, contractualdisputes, litigations, bid reports and specifications, with recommendations
- Report on high level risk & compliance management issues
- Monitorlegislative framework
- Advise on stakeholder communication and interaction.

- Organisational skills, sound analyticalthinking and problem
- Good communication and interpersonal relations skills
- Computer literacy, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Available towork immediately on contract basis
- Executive management skills
- Soundfinancial management skills
- Good knowledge of working in a politicalenvironment
- Valid unendorsed driver’s licence
- Coaching experience
- Municipal experience
