Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree or B. Tech Computer Science, or Information Technology or equivalent
• Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Honours Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science

Minimum Experience:
• Five (5) years of recent experience with installing, upgrading, configuring and managing Microsoft Windows, Exchange, SQL, Microsoft Azure
• 5 years’ experience in managing ICT Infrastructure Projects
• 3 years’ experience in supporting VOIP Telephone system
• 3 years’ experience supervising IT staff
• 5 years’ experience in developing and executing IT Disaster Recovery and Backup Plan
• 5 years’ experience in configuring, supporting and administering Local and Wide Area Network
• 5 years’ experience in System administration and User Account Management
• 5 years’ experience in supporting datacentres

Key Outputs:
Reporting to the ICT Manager, the employee will:
• Manage Amatola Water ICT Infrastructure to ensure maximum reliability and Return on Investment (ROI) while supporting business objectives
• Review ICT Infrastructure trends and Amatola Water business needs and objectives and suggest improvements for the benefit of Amatola Water
• Investigate, analyse and recommend standard specifications for hardware and software and ensure that these are upheld
• Manage ICT Operational staff to ensure efficient support is provided to all Amatola Water computer users
• Ensure that the ICT Department provides prompt and efficient technical support to staff
• Establish internal Service Level Agreements and ensure the achievement of these by the operational staff
• Take the necessary steps to ensure Business Continuity, Data Security and appropriate Disaster Recovery processes are in place
• Regularly review and update the disaster recovery plan
• Ensure that backups are done regularly and are successful in-line with the Disaster Recovery Plan
• Ensure the training of end-users on standard products, aligned with HR, to increase efficiency and development of Amatola Water staff
• Coordinate with Supervisors, Human Resources and Information Technology staff to identify the ICT training needs within Amatola Water
• Review the assessment of ICT literacy within Amatola Water and oversee the implementation of necessary initiatives to
• Manage all resources of the unit
• Motivate and develop staff including setting KPI’s for performance contracts and conducting performance reviews
• Allocate work according to expertise and developmental needs
• Risk Management, IT Strategy, Policy and Budget development and implementation
• Develop, review and keep up-to-date the relevant policies and procedures
• Ensure that policies and procedures are implemented correctly
• Develop the relevant IT portions of corporate documents such as annual reports and business plans

Other requirements needed:
• Computer literacy
• Valid unendorsed driver’s license
• Communication skills
• Motivational skills
