Labour Relations Officer

Labour Relations Officer
1-year Fixed Term Contract
Corporate Services Division
Based at Head Office
Salary: R477, 698.00 – R638,454.00 (per annum inclusive of benefits)

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Labour Relations, Industrial Psychology, Human Resources or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
• Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law

Minimum Experience:
• 2-5 years’ experience in the Industrial Relations field, Reasonable understanding of Labour Law and any other relevant legislation

Key Outputs:
Reporting to the Industrial Relations Specialist, the employee will:
• Coordinate disciplinary, grievance and incapacity processes
• Initiate disciplinary enquiries
• Advise line management and / Supervisors on all labour relations and EAP matters
• Perform general administrative tasks within the Labour Relations Section
• Perform all administrative tasks relating to the Local Labour Forum and its sub-committees
• Represent Amatola Water in disputes at the CCMA or any Dispute resolution forum
• Advise management and/ or Supervisors and staff on grievance and disciplinary processes
• Ensure that the Amatola Water complies with Labour Legislation
• Liaise with management, employees and unions to keep them informed regarding Labour Relations matters
• Attend to procedural administrative requirements, record keeping and reporting deadlines associated with the functionality
• Keep abreast of developments, legislative changes and emerging trends in the profession.

Other requirements needed:
• Ability to communicate in Xhosa
• Insight and understanding of individual, group and cultural diversity
• Computer literate – spreadsheets, word processing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Extensive degree of confidentiality
• Valid unendorsed driver’s license
