Process Controller Class I

Salary Package: R258, 452.82- R304,439.57 per annum
Based at Clarkebury Agricultural School
Minimum Qualifications:
• Matric (with math’s & science) plus Water and/or Wastewater Treatment practice
Preferred Qualification:
• NTC III Water and Wastewater Treatment Practice
Minimum Experience:
• 6 months relevant experience in a Water and Wastewater treatment plant
Key Outputs:
Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the appointee will:
• Operate the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants & Boreholes to ensure effective
operation of plants, associated system to provide a reliable water supply, to improve the efficiency of plants and equipment and to minimise the cost of production.
• Minimise business risk by checking that AW meet SANS 241 Class I Water Treatment Standards
• Continuously meet water demand
• Validate that the infrastructure, WWTW, WTW and equipment operate to specified standards to meet demands
• Maintain communications with customers and set service levels agreements to maintain adequate service levels
• Operate in compliance with statutory requirements to promote the health of consumers, customers and operations employees
• Utilise financial resources to maximise capital productivity, minimise operating costs and provide value for money to the end consumer
• Maintain and improve motivation and performance of staff to achieve maximum productivity
• Achieve world class Safety, Health and Environmental standards by ensuring full compliance to OHS act and relevant environmental legislation
• Give information to specialist organisations and other authorities to promote vision and mission of Amatola Water
• Provide the supervisor with consistent feedback and information on any problems, value add or queries related to chemicals, process materials, services etc. to be discussed
with stakeholders/suppliers/customers
Other requirements needed:
• Good Industrial Relations skills
• Computer Literacy – spreadsheets, word processing, presentation packages
• Good knowledge of OHS Act and NOSA safety management
• Telemetry experience in Scada and RTU equipment
• Valid driver’s licence
