Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or degree in built environment equivalent qualification in a technical field related to Amatola Water’s core business Preferred Qualifications: • Engineering Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or the South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) • Higher degree or diploma/certificate in Engineering Management e.g. PMP, MBA, MBL or equivalent Minimum Experience: • Minimum 15 years’ infrastructure experience of which 10 years should be in a management position and at least 5 of these in the water sector • Extensive public sector Infrastructure Procurement and Delivery Management experience, specifically in relation to Water Services Key Outputs: Reporting to the PnD division: Planning and Development sessions, the appointee will: • Provide support and coaching in the following areas: • Infrastructure planning and design • Project management • Water Resources management • Environmental management • Scientific Services management • Institutional and social development • Marketing and business development support • Employee Management • Analyse existing contracts, contractual disputes, litigations, bid reports and specifications, with recommendations. • Report on high level risk & compliance management issues • Monitor legislative framework • Advise on stakeholder communication and interaction. Other requirements: • Planning and Project Management • Contract management expertise • Organisational skills, sound analytical thinking and problem • Good communication and interpersonal relations skills • Computer literacy, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint • Available to work immediately on contract basis • Executive Management skills • Sound financial management skills • Good knowledge of working in a political environment • Valid unendorsed driver’s license • Coaching experience • Municipal experience
