Section 63 Intervention team successes and challenges
On 3 June 2022, at a media briefing in Nelson Mandela Bay, the Minister of Water & Sanitation publicly announced this intervention, to address water supply challenges which created the risk of city taps running dry. The minister appointed the Amatola Water Board (AWB) as its implementing agent, and announced a range of actions agreed between the Minister and the Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM).

Amatola Water celebrate Women's Month
Amatola Water held an event for the 31st of August 2022 at Blue Lagoon Hotel under the theme “Build Our Brand” which is a brand that encourages women to work on empowering themselves at every aspect of being women, from themselves as women and in their careers. The purpose of the event was to motivate, empower, encourage and build Amatola Women confidence to take pride in themselves as women.

EMPLOYEE WELLBEING POST COVID-19
On the 11 August 2022 Amatola Water held once again its annual wellness awareness event which focused on the wellbeing of the employees of Amatola Water. Following a very emotionally testing time with Covid-19 protocols, the Amatola Water management saw it an utmost necessity to bring wellness awareness to employees as a step to healing and moving forward.
